Hi!
Are you sick of not getting results? This might be a new way to look at it:
Practice with a purpose.
We need to practice with a purpose. By practice, I mean take action. The actual actions we take each day determine what our lives look like.
By practicing a skill every day, we get better and better at it. We typically think of sports, learning an instrument, learning another language, etc. when we talk about practice. But, I’m here to tell you that you practice life skills every day.
If we don’t really think about what we eat, we eat pretty much anything when we are hungry. And, it will eventually show up ON your body and IN your body.
If we practice healthy eating and try to get it better a little bit every day, we get a little better at it and a little more competent every day. And, that shows up on your body and in your body.
How do you do it?
We have a specific goal. We set up small steps in our daily practice, i.e., drink your water every day, get your workout in.
Stay focused. This part can be iffy. So, our daily emails and contact during the workout keeps us on track.
Get feedback. Stop and ask yourself if your directed practice is helping you or not helpful to your goals.
Lastly, you have to get out of your comfort zone. Otherwise, we stay the same.
Think for a second about a skill you are really good at. Think back to before you knew how to do it. Before you even practiced the first time. As you started to learn and got a little better, people started to notice that you were getting better.
This helped build up your confidence. You continued to practice the skill and get even more proficient. You became very competent.
Apply these same techniques to eating clean and getting fit. It’s the exact same process: practice, practice, practice.
You will get there. You will hit those goals. Practice it a little bit every day.
You got this!
